One of the biggest bummers in my industry is seeing the sheer amount of people who have been “trying to get into voice-over/podcasting” for years and haven’t progressed at all. It’s a common problem with artistic types. We have a million ideas, passion, and talent but lack direction, focus, consistency, and discipline.
Many creative types don’t even know they should be treating their career like a business.
It consistently blows my mind when I find out that folks have spent hundreds or thousands of dollars on equipment and training but don’t have a business plan. They don’t consistently reach out to clients. They’ve never created a marketing campaign... and haven’t even considered it as an option.
So many voice-actors put their demos on their website and simply wait to be found. Podcasters create a show and are under the impression that “if you build it, they will come.”
That’s not how any of this works.
Whether you want to be a voice actor or podcaster, you need to operate as a business. That means the vast majority of your time is going to be spent marketing and advertising your product (your voice-over services and/or podcast) in addition to creating your content, continuing education, bookkeeping, customer management….
It’s a lot to do on your own! That’s why most business owners have a partner. It’s important to have that person who can give knowledgeable and trusted advice as well as keep you accountable.
That’s where I come in.
While my talent management services are invitation-only, I’m happy to share that I’ve recently created these affordable new programs to help you achieve your goals.
