What I Do:
"Voice-over training" is an incredibly broad term. There are so many aspects to the industry from script interpretation, delivery, visualization, emotional recall, mic technique, audio editing, audio engineering, branding, marketing, advertising, networking, business planning, management... oh and were you wondering how to get an agent? How about SAG-AFTRA? And then there are the seemingly dozens of voice-over genres, all with their own set of industry standards and expectations... do you need to learn them all? Or do you find your niche in the industry?
What I offer is a solid foundation for new voice-actors to build their businesses on through customized one-on-one training sessions via mediums like Skype/FaceTime. I specialize in developing required skills such as script interpretation, script delivery, visualization, emotional recall, branding, marketing, advertising, networking, and business planning/management.
Because each session is customized specifically to the individual student's level and goals, I don't offer a standard curriculum sample. For example, you may be a fantastic voice actor but you have no idea how to run a business or self-manage. Likewise, you may have business experience but have never been involved in the performing arts.
To get an idea of what my sessions look like, I've included a video of my student, Tom, and me tackling script interpretation, delivery, tone, and inflection.
How It Works:
Free Ten-Minute Consultation:
Can I help you reach your goals? If I'm not the right coach for you and your specific needs, I'll refer you to any number of the coaches and audio professionals on my "Resources" page.
If we are a good fit, we'll create a custom curriculum and step-by-step training plan together.
Schedule Your First Session(s):
Go at your own pace! Some of my students train with me bi-weekly, others will book sessions twice a month, and some like to just pop in for a refresher or a review as needed. I offer training in 30, 60, and 120-minute sessions. You can schedule session time online here.
I have a unique background as not only an actor but a business owner as well.
In brief, I was a child actor until I purchased a retail store at the age of 18 using my college fund as a downpayment for a business loan. I grew that business over the course of seven years and then sold it at a profit. During those seven years, I studied and participated in very small and independent voice-over gigs. By 2017, I was ready to go full-time. You can learn more about my background here. All records are also available upon request!
I don't teach certain specialized genres of voice-over or anything having to do with the audio editing and engineering aspect of this industry. But I’m creating a “resources” page where you can find links to some of my most trusted and favorite resources in voice-over today! Check back soon!
