I played Tomb Raider (2013) for the first time! The graphics are impressive for 2013 and while it's not going to make me sleep with the lights on like another game I recently played, it was thrilling and fast paced enough to keep me on the edge of my seat.
For fellow little baby deer gamers, it's not always clear where you're supposed to go or what you're supposed to do. And the controls are a little tricky to get the hang of in the sense of you have to be quick to respond to the on screen prompts. For example, the game will have a little pop up that says something to the effect of, "press the joystick back and forth super fast to get away, mash E repeatedly, get up and do the electrified cha-cha-cha and then text your grandma" and if you're not solid on navigating your controller/keyboard, it might take you a hot minute to master.
There are also scenes where you have to fight and hunt animals so if you're a sensitive soul like yours truly, be warned.

In this first stream we:
got off to a flying start by getting impaled by a stick and then PULLED IT OUT before escaping into a dark cave and wriggling free from our captors
solved our first puzzle with fire and have a hunch that Lara may be an amoral Colonialist given how little she regards the artifacts she's meant to be studying.
find a camcorder that explains how we got into this mess and then find a longbow... and have to hunt a cute deer and side eye Lara because she didn't seem sorry enough about murdering an animal
watch Lara continue to make bad decisions and decide we're on team Island
learn the pronunciation of Lara and are reunited with our best friend, Sam, and a complete stranger who dresses like our kidnappers, but we trust him completely...
watch Lara get herself caught in a bear trap and then we have to kill wolves... we are not on good terms with this girl
upgraded our pickaxe using some salvaged materials and then our professor gives us up to our captors so we had to hide and sneak around
killed our first human and act shaken up, but we're pretty convinced Lara is alarmingly OK with this, and frankly has bloodlust
see that our assumptions were correct as we wathc Lara be immediately OK with slaughtering people without a second thought
are lethal with a bow... it's slightly concerning... but our ruthless proficiency lets us end the stream on a high note.
