2021 Wrap and What's Happening in 2022

Voice Acting

This year I found my footing as an audiobook narrator and I’m so grateful for the authors who have trusted me with sharing their stories. I’m also incredibly thankful to our wonderfully supportive listeners/readers. Finding a niche in fantasy, action, and thriller has been nothing short of a dream come true. I’m so excited to continue the journey in 2022!

The Future of Death is Hilarious

First, I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting the podcast this year. It was a busy one and there were several growing pains as I found my footing as an audiobook narrator and comedy content creator on TikTok. I also started what has become the largest online group for widow/ers in their 20s and 30s.

Something that has become clear to me these past 12 months is the need for more services and resources for all grieving people. This is particularly the case for people in the LGBTQ+, BIPOC communities, and other minority groups (polyamorous widows, unwed widows, etc).

While Death is Hilarious has always been about exploring using humor to cope with grief, it has largely been focused on young widows and entertainment. The podcast and support group has also been something that I’ve been doing mostly single handedly and as a passion project when time allows.

That’s something I’ve wanted to change and I’ve recently been presented with the opportunity to make that a reality.

I’m proud to share that as of January 2022, Death is Hilarious will begin the process of applying for non-profit status and will provide peer to peer mentorship programs, peer led support groups, industry professional led groups and talks, corporate grief training, resource connections, and podcast production.

While I can’t share specifics quite yet, I’ll be teaming up with other professionals in order to provide these services as well as offer up to 16 additional podcast episodes a month. This wouldn’t have been possible without your help over the years and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of your support- I’ll be sharing more details soon!

As always, please feel free to get in touch with any questions, concerns, or ideas you have.

Happy New Year! -Tawny
